“Carries both strength and depth. Stripping back the very surfaces of the outsides to stand strong and then quietly to confront others with shared fears and failures.

She empowers material zeitgeists as carriers that mess up and disturbs the body’s sanctity. Using her body as both site and instrument, a meeting ground of action and the material.

The exposed body, in turn, becomes hanger to the clothes that would have protected it. Re-appropriating function and exposing the clean by dirty materiality.

Drawing and painting in live body alchemy.”

Prof. Nigel Rolfe, 2017

I look at my body as a primary material that can be used to instigate the internal dialogue, to activate the viewer inwardly. In the moment of doing the process of thinking becomes apparent, thus revealing the body’s co-existent and inter-dependent nature with the outside world. I think it is the action that primarily starts sculpting thought and then in return can be used to shape our society.

And because the action is something that is done in relation to time and space thus constantly de-inscribing the body’s memory it reveals the fact of how for example the mechanics of repetition in life have not the representative nature but rather evolutionary. Through its repetitiveness, we can both enter deeper into a self heightened consciousness as well as expand the cognitive reading of meanings. It is the process at the end that has a value, and not the representation of it.

‘With the birth of new technologies and these new economic processes, one sees the birth of a sort of thinking about space that is no longer modeled on the police state of the urbanization of the territory but that extends far beyond the limits of urbanism and architecture.

{N}o matter how terrifying a given system may be, there always remain the possibilities of resistance, disobedience, and oppositional groupings…

Nothing is fundamental. That is what is interesting in the analysis of society{and social spaces}… There are only reciprocal relations, and the perpetual gaps between intentions in relation to one another.’
(Michel Foucault 1984)

The ‘Image of Self’ in different social and political environments. I am interested in situations, political or socially formed models/ circumstances/ projections that influences daily life. And by being the presence in the space, create a set of actions that reflex on both, the Self of others and the Self of my own.
